Privacy Policy

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor's IP address and the user agent string of the browser to help detect spam.

An anonymous string generated from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to Gravatar to determine if you are using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. If your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media Files

If you upload images to the site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded geodata (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download and extract any geodata from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you can enable the storage of your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience, so you don't have to fill in your information again when you leave a comment next time. These cookies will be stored for 1 year.

If you have an account on the site and you log into it, we will set a temporary cookie file to determine if your browser supports cookies; cookies do not contain any personal information and are deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, several cookie files will also be set to save your login data and screen settings. Login cookies are stored for 2 days, and screen settings cookies - for 1 year. If you select 'Remember me', your login data will be stored for 2 weeks. If you log out of your account, your login cookies will be deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie file will be saved in your browser. This cookie file does not contain any personal data and simply indicates the ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may contain embedded content (for example, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the user visited another site.

These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with this embedded content. This includes tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to this site.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP will be included in the reset letter.

How long we store your data

If you leave a comment, it and its metadata will be retained indefinitely. This way, we can automatically identify and approve every subsequent comment, rather than keeping them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our site (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, and security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
